What is Total Value Creation?
Total Value Creation (TVC) is a self paced VCI Institute masterclass that teaches value creation in private equity as one connected system rather than a list of levers. It is built around twelve instruments, from a Coverage Map to an Exit Readiness Diagnostic, that you run on your own asset, and every instrument that produces a number reconciles exactly.
The programme closes with an integrated case that runs all twelve instruments on a single company, then a forty question final assessment. Pass it at eighty per cent and you receive a VCII Certificate of Completion. TVC is a masterclass, not a certification.
Lessons come as audio, video and written text throughout, with a bonus library that includes the full Total Value Creation book.

Six questions. One system. Nothing random.
Most value creation plans are a list of initiatives that never quite add up to the number in the investment case. TVC replaces the list with a system: every framework answers a specific question, and every lever ties back to a business measurement.
The system is testable, not just teachable. Any instrument that produces a number ties exactly, so you can rebuild it in a spreadsheet and get the same answer.
Four things you will be able to do by the end.
Each is a piece of work an investment committee, a board or a buyer will ask of you.
Diagnose where value sits
Map an asset across every dimension of value and test whether the conditions for creating it are actually in place.
Sequence the work
Stage the plan so that nothing is attempted years before the business can carry it.
Price what is realisable
Value what current conditions will let you realise, rather than what the plan claims.
Build a bridge a buyer accepts
Decompose the gain from entry to exit so that every term reconciles and survives a buyer's diligence.

Move any lever. The bridge still closes to the last decimal.
Module 3 builds the Value Bridge, the instrument that explains where a gain came from. Here is a simplified, illustrative version. Change the exit assumptions and watch each source of value move, while the total always ties to exit equity with nothing left over.
Exit assumptions
Illustrative company at entry: revenue 400.0, EBITDA margin 15 per cent, EBITDA 60.0, entry multiple 8.0x, enterprise value 480.0, net debt 240.0, equity 240.0.
| Entry equityEnterprise value 480.0 less net debt 240.0 | 240.0 |
|---|---|
| Revenue growthAdded revenue at the entry margin and entry multiple | |
| Margin changeExit revenue times the margin change, at the entry multiple | |
| Multiple changeExit EBITDA times the change in multiple | |
| Debt paydownNet debt at entry less net debt at exit | |
| Exit equityExit EBITDA times exit multiple, less exit net debt | |
| Sum of the terms less exit equity |
How the split is made: revenue growth is priced at the entry margin and entry multiple, margin change at the entry multiple, and multiple change on exit EBITDA. Choose a different order and the split between terms moves; the total never does. Every figure is computed in exact tenths, so the check line is always zero. The instrument you build in the course is the full five-source Value Bridge, and the integrated case runs it on one company.
Nothing in it is random, so every outcome traces back to a decision you made.
Twelve modules. Each one hands you an instrument.
You run each instrument on your own asset rather than read about it. Each one answers a single question, and its output feeds the modules that follow.

- Twelve quarters. Run a live mandate, choosing from five deals.
- A budget that never stretches far enough. Every allocation is a trade-off.
- Five operating levers. Each lands at a different speed: commercial pays back in a quarter, capability takes four.
- A buyer at the end. The value bridge splits your gain into EBITDA growth, multiple change and debt paydown.
Written for people who are accountable for the number.
Industry agnostic. The instruments work on a manufacturer, a services business or a software company alike.
